Hello new WIBlets!

Welcome New Members!

As a new member myself, I can honestly say that Women in Business did a wonderful job making every girl feel happy and welcome in WIB. Through various e-mails drumming up excitement, our New Member Retreat was finally here! Returning members in WIB worked countless hours planning this fun event that everyone enjoyed.

Networking is one of the most important components that is focused in WIB, and this new member event allowed every girl to first feel that aspect come to life. From networking within WIB to outside employers and contacts, it is important for all girls to continually develop those social networking skills that are crucial in the business world.

From the colorful balloons, to the colorful streamers and the surplus of candy, it was clear that each and every girl was excited for the incoming WIB members. Of course, it also felt nice celebrating our achievements making it through the competitive interview process! As every new member walked in, we were surprised with a jar of candy on our chair with a colored balloon tied to it. Little did we know, each balloon corresponded with the team we were on! After introductions, we all broke off into groups at tables to discuss certain aspects of WIB. Some tables included fun games, and other tables included explaining goals and expectations of the club for this year. New WIB member Blair Carlisle quotes, "It was already such an incredible experience getting to know my fellow new WIB members. Every girl was so welcoming, and were ALL enthusiastic to watch me grow through this journey."

Overall, every girl had such a fun experience, and it only strengthened our love for Women in Business at IU. We finally feel like we belong!
