2012 Etiquette Dinner

On March 29th Women in Business held their annual Etiquette Dinner at the Indiana Memorial Union. A representative from Kohl’s Department Stores kicked off the event with a presentation of the company as well as professional tips for the women to follow in pursuit of their future careers. A KPMG representative facilitated the Etiquette Dinner and taught the women the proper techniques to use during each course of the meal. The women enjoyed the fine dining while learning the proper etiquette and table manners for the five-course meal. Women in Business members were educated in the appropriate silverware usage as well as napkin placement and correct passing of table dishes. The Women in Business members are now well equipped with dinner etiquette skills that will allow them to impress recruiters and employers and help them avoid possible embarrassing moments. A special thanks goes out to all of the Women in Business sponsors that contributed to making this dinner possible.

WIB's Meals Around the World--Basil Leaf Bistro

In Women in Business you don’t have to study abroad to expand your horizons and become more cultured and worldly. Recently our members journeyed to Basil Leaf Bistro to continue Women in Business’s Meals Around the World – 4th Street Edition. At Basil Leaf members were able to try a variety of Asian inspired dishes, such as Pad Thai or Asian Fusion. The owner, a local businesswoman, took great care in making sure our Women in Business members had a great dinner.

Although trying new types of food was fun, according to Senior Marie Howison, the best part of every dinner is good company. The dinner was a great way for members to escape the stress of school and get to know other members. Members traded crazy business school stories and shared tons of laughter. We are looking forward to sharing more stories and of course eating more food at our next Meals Around the World stop on 4th Street.
